Hybrid Learning Debate
Official Audio Prompt
Three students were discussing whether universities should continue using a hybrid model for classes. Raghu started by saying that hybrid learning-mixing online and in-person classes-could be helpful. Durga agreed, saying online lectures let students review tough topics and help those with part-time jobs. Rahul added that while online learning is flexible, in-person classes are important for building friendships and staying engaged. Raghu pointed out that hybrid learning makes education more accessible for students in remote areas or with mobility issues. Durga said it could also improve teaching-universities could teach theory online and do labs or group work in person. Rahul reminded them that not all students have excellent internet or quiet places to study at home. He said universities need better tech and teacher training. Raghu added that cheating during online exams is a problem, so schools need strong systems to keep things fair. Durga said hybrid learning also prepares students for modern jobs, where people often work both online and in person. Rahul suggested that universities could offer some programs fully on campus and others in hybrid format, depending on the subject. In the end, they all agreed that a well-planned hybrid model could make learning better, more flexible, and more inclusive.
