Rainforests (Version 2)

These forests cover only 6% of the Earth's surface but contain more than half of the world's plant and animal species. | Rainforests are Earth's oldest living ecosystems, with some surviving in their present form for at least 70 million years. | However, deforestation is posing a severe threat to these biodiverse environments, leading to the loss of species and contributing to global climate change. | The dense canopy of the rainforest blocks sunlight, creating a humid understory teeming with life.
